Subscribe to our weblogWhile attending the Creative Connections meetup here in Denver I received two free tickets to the Get Motivated Business Seminar from Carol Naff with Mariner Company. This was good timing, as the Indie Arsenal creative group that we are members of has a fourth quarter theme of Motivation. Motivating yourself, your clients and others. As it turns out, Flipbox Studios is having a very motivating fourth quarter!
The seminar had quite a lineup of speakers, including Laura Bush, General Colin Powell, Rudy Giuliani, Zig Ziglar, John Elway and Terry Bradshaw just to name a few. It was very motivating to see all of these successful people on one stage. They each told stories from their life experiences and provided advice on how to apply their success in business. Although the pictures I took weren't the best quality, I have included a couple anyways. Special thanks to Carol for the tickets!

Above, former Denver Broncos quarterback, John Elway speaks on motivation, determination and teamwork.

Above, General Colin Powell speaks on leadership. Gen. Colin Powell was quite funny. One of my favorite quotes was when he was talking about technology and the latest social media sites. He was telling a story of a conversation with his teenaged grandson about how people don't email anymore, they text or Tweet. He said "What's Twitter? And if I post something why is it called a Tweet and not a Twit?" haha

Above is America's Mayor, Rudy Giuliani who was also a great speaker and very humorous. Giuliani spoke on perserverance. It was incredible to hear Giuliani and Laura Bush (Also very funny and an excellent speaker, opposite of her husband. hah) speak about their experiences of 9/11. Listening to these leaders of America speak of their experience on American History was a lifetime experience for sure.

So glad you could attend that fabulous day, Lauren. I managed to give 80 tickets to people in my network. You are the only one who blogged about it - or is this a twit? Certainly not a tweet.
